Indian Shores Getaways
Our favorite weekend getaway!
By far our favorite is the Barrett Beach Bungalows in Indian Shores, located at 19646 Gulf Blvd, Indian Shores, FL 33785. This place preserves the old-style Florida beach with a crazy in style bungalow feel that included 4 unique options. Do not spend your Florida beach holiday in a huge and overly busy and stuffy hotel? This is the way to go!
Indian Shores is quite possibly on of the most amazing beach atmospheres you can find along Florida’s left coast. It sits right on the Gulf of Mexico and it does not disappoint. It truly gives you an opportunity to experience a holiday the way the beach and Florida was supposed to be long before it became flooded by the boom in real estate and development. This spot does not have the super busy elevators and literally you are just steps away from the white sand beach and a very clean and refreshing swimming pool. The pool comes loaded with chairs, loungers, umbrellas, and tables for the family. It has everything you need. It is even heated, which is super nice in the cooler winter months. This place does a great job of capturing the old-fashioned small family friendly image of the state of Florida. Each one of the bungalows have all of the necessities and amenities you will need and they always seem to be professionally cleaned with beachy themed decor. You can rent the entire house which is basically a duplex that has a locking door in between the two units. One unit is the Mermaid suite and the other is names the seahorse which you will see each one of the sea merchants on your way into the bungalow. The place has four total bedrooms, two baths, and sleeps up to 12 when you include the pull out couches.
Another little place on Indian Shores we like to stay at is call the Sand Glo Villas located at 19316 Gulf Blvd, Indian Shores, FL 33785
This place is a pretty cool experience. It is a delightful assortment of Ocean and Beach front Cabins and Villas. The rooms are located directly on the beach and come with a direct view of the Gulf of Mexico. The Sand Glo Villas extend a really laid back relaxing tropical type of atmosphere. The atmosphere is a large reason that we continue to go back time and time again. In total, I think, they only have 12 or so rooms, so the place never feels overly crowded with vacationers. The rooms that we get come full loaded with fully equipped kitchens that usually included stove, microwave, dishwasher, and all of the utensils needed to cook for the family. The rooms also have large flat screen televisions, stereo systems, dvd players, free wifi with high speed cable and internet. They are really nice. One thing that set this place apart from most of the other place that we stay is, they allow pets! We do not always take our 150 pound great dane to the beach with us, but occasionally we will take him here to stay. Now, it is just too damn bad they don’t allow dogs on to the beach!
